name shows inverse dns

hello. when i do a scan, the field name, instead of showing the device name, it displays the inverse dns (arpa) notation (5.2.168.192.in-addr.arpa). why is that happening? can you help me?

Hello,

Its likely to be caused that netbios name scanning was forbidden on the remote PC. You can check it using arp command.

hello.thanks for replying. But that happens with all the pcs, router and even with an access point on the network. it happens with all the network nodes.

Hello,

1. You need to delete stored data. You can find this option in the following way: Advanced IP Scanner -> Settings -> Options -> Misc -> Delete stored data.
2. You should also clean your DNS cache https://www.technipages.com/flush-and-reset-the-dns-resolver-cache-using-ipconfig
And send a screenshot of your scanning result after this.

hi. already did that. that was the first thing i did when i got the reverse notation. it happens only on a specific customer network. i questioned him and he doesn't have netbios disabled on his machines.
