We can however tunnel it over TCP/IP... In this post I will explain how you can play games that support IPX/SPX but not TCP/IP over the Internet using Radmin VPN, even when playing them on DOS.
Installing the IPX/SPX protocol on Windows
Make sure Radmin VPN is installed on a 32-bit Windows computer.
If you are using Windows Vista or later you need to install the IPX/SPX protocol as it is no longer included, you can use attached ipx-setup.exe for this.
Make sure the IPX/SPX protocol is installed and enabled for the Radmin VPN adapter.
If not, click the Install button.
Select Protocol and click Add...
Select IPX/SPX and click OK.
Repeat these steps on another 32-bit Windows computer with a connected Radmin VPN and the games should find each other.
Connecting LANs (parties) and use DOS
Bridging the virtual Radmin VPN adapter to a physical one makes it possible to join a game that is played on a local IPX/SPX network somewhere else or connect whole networks! As long as there is a computer running Radmin VPN on both sides.
To accomplish this, on any Windows version that can run Radmin VPN, select the two network adapters, right click them and choose "Bridge Connections".
The bridge computer does not even have to have knowledge of the IPX/SPX protocol, so it may just as well be Windows x64.
