Radmin very slow if scrolling, such as in Excel?

I am connecting remotely with Radmin and noticed that it is very slow with window scrolling, and sometimes with window dragging or resizing.

Take an Excel spreadsheet. Even and empty one, when I switch to a different sheet, I can see the window redraw vertically and very slowly taking about a second. If I scroll down in an empty sheet it appears smooth.
But if the sheet has anything in it, the scrolling is very slow constantly doing a full refresh like when switching sheets.
This slowdown does not happen with all apps and some can scroll fine but most become very slow like Excel.
I can also see the same when moving windows. I move it and it takes a second or 2 to draw it in the new spot, but some windows draw quickly.
RDP or TeamViewer do not have the same issues with scrolling or dragging, but Radmin is faster for the entire screen, just some small windows are very slow.

All systems have the same behavior. 3.5.2 server and client. Windows 10 64 1909, Win 7 64 sp1. Excel 365.

I am wondering if there is some server or client tweak to stop this behavior? Thank you.

Hello,

Check if there is no programs that overload your network, like FTP, torrents of Windows updates. And ping options is blocked in Windows as default.
You can decrease the quality (Radmin Viewer - Tools - Options - New connection default - Remote connection - Decrease Color Format and Maximum number of updates). And decrease resolution of the remote monitor.
And update all the drivers.

The network usage is relevantly low with very little beyond Radmin.

I have lowered the color depth and max number of updates, but it is not helping.

I have latest system drivers and everything is fine locally, just on Radmin.

Lowering resolution is not really an option, but still not an option. Even if all I see is one Excel window I still have the same.

The issue does not occur with remote desktop or team viewer so I am quite sure this is a Radmin only issue.

Thank you.

Hello,

Update all the drivers and Radmin Server an Viewer. And ping the remote PC. If its high, low speed is inavitable.

I finally figured out the issue. It seems that Radmin is heavily reliant on GDI video objects and that is not accelerated on my PC, or many others as it seems to be older. This is best demonstrated with the pass-mark performance test 2D Complex Vectors test which is version 8 and 9, but now removed from 10.

I found this post: https://hardforum.com/threads/faster-win7-32bit-64bit-with-legacy-video-gdi-acceleration.1478922/
My video card is not legacy and tried both AMD and NVIDIA and it is not accelerated under windows 7, and 8. However, if I installed an old XP driver I did have GDI acceleration, but lost many features of the new cards.

Windows 10 seems to have again changed the driver model and does accelerate GDI again. Not as well as XP and not as well as 7 or 8 in other tests but it does work OK in windows 10.

However most other applications do not rely on GDI anymore and I wonder if the new Radmin will have an option to use better graphical acceleration than GDI.

Thank you.
